Prior to the EWC establishment
Establishing a European Works Council (EWC) requires commitment and long breath. First of all it presupposes the conclusion
of a europeanwide agreement negotiated with central management. Up to 1996 it was fairly easy, hence many agreements has
been achieved at that time. Today however the legislator requires a complex procedure.
First of all it has to be set up a Special Negotiation Body (SNB), which has a three years period to nego-tiate the details
of the EWC agreement with the employer. However previous to the request of establishing a SNB the employees' side should
meet transnationally to elaborate a common strategy. Our trainers and consultants accompany you accurately during all
stages of the EWC establishment and make proposals for reasonable steps.
The following subjects are in the center of our support and advice:
Providing a number of good reasons for establishing an EWC
